24 cloudy with showers...

24C that is.. autumn has finally arrived albeit officially two weeks late and I couldn't be happier! It has been an exhausting two weeks of hot and humid weather but after watching the news last night and seeing the seriously wintry conditions returning to many parts of the US it feels wrong to complain about our mild temperatures. Driving along the West Coast Highway yesterday we pulled over to take a shot of the brooding skies out to sea..

Although there wasn't a rainbow in sight there was treasure as the sun burst momentarily through the clouds spotlighting the welcome sight of the 'adventure in a cup' Yahava KoffeeWorks mobile espresso bar.. it could have been because it was my first coffee of the day but it was pretty exciting :) Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..

  1. Marvelously brooding skies, Grace!

We're getting some of that system hitting the northeast- twenty centimeters of snow for us, which is something we can easily handle here, but the storm is wrecking havoc with flights.

  2. I love taking drives when the sky looks like that! My good friend Dave (Julie's husband) is in Washington DC this week. He arrived on Sunday to a bright sunny day (he texted photos) and last night he got snowed in. Crazy weather back east.

  3. Beautiful clouds. I could use some of that cool weather here too instead of the balmy 80s (high 20sC). I miss snow!

  4. 24C ... yes, a little different to what parts of the USA are currently experiencing.
As for me, well today I enjoyed a lovely Spring walk in my part of the UK.

Enjoy the rest of the week

    All the best Jan

  8. In some places if you see "brooding" skies like those you run for the cellar, or any other low spot for it could be bringing a tornado or two. Kind of like those dark politicians we know so well. And they destroy all the good stuff!

  9. Oh yes, much relief for you, cooler but oh those skies look like a good storm is brewing! Stay safe.

  12. Dramatic skies Grace! We were well on our way into spring here in north Florida until this week. Tonight the temperatures are dipping below freezing causing many people to scramble around trying to protect their plants.

  13. Those sure are some moody and threatening skies. Very nice photos Grace. I've tried to like espresso, but just can't do it.

  15. You have the cooler weather and now we have the belated hot stuff on my peninsula. It has gone 8:30pm, and still the temperature is 30 degrees centigrade. Yesterday was similar. Love your moody skies. Quite dramatic.

  16. Wait! Those people are still running in shorts. But I guess that's why they've stopped for a cuppa, huh?

  17. Those skies we see here very often, but now your sun has come to us. The world upside down!

  21. We're supposedly heading into spring--but after weeks of unseasonably warm, sunny days, it now snows just about every morning. The snow almost immediately melts, but....

  22. We have wind chills of -21˚C here but got only a bit of the snow that hit the east coast of the US and Canada.

  23. Complain as much as your like! We all have our weather preferences and sunshine is high on my list.
