Do not pass GO!

I can't remember the last time I played Monopoly and I'm not altogether sure I agree with the ethos of the game 'wealth creation above all else' seems a bit sad don't you think.. but that's in the real world :) as a game it can be entertaining, especially if there are familiar properties for sale on the board. Found the just for fun Monopoly board down a lane in the inner city suburb of Leederville in the City of Vincent. Any of the streets on this board would be a lucrative pick up! Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..

  1. I don't recall ever playing it.

    Give me Clue or Risk.

  2. Local edition, I see. Modern monopoly might have other rewards than cash? Hmmmm, public beautification points?

  3. I played it as a kid--but never could stay with it because of my chronically short attention span. I liked Life, Clue or Yahtzee!

  7. I did play Monopoly with my Grandsons when they came to visit. This board seem to be wearing out, and the properties seem to be local to your area. The game was created during the depression of the 1930s when no one had money, but it remains popular now.

  9. Local street names, I guess. It looks like it has been there a while. Yes, I find the game a bit too long for my boredom threshold.

  10. It has been many years since I played Monopoly but I remember it as big fun. To see it as a miral is a nice change :)

  11. Oh my gosh, I haven't played that game in many, many years. I bet the money in that game hasn't kept up with inflation.

  12. Nice find Grace. I used to play this years ago and really never liked it. One of my first jobs ever was working for Milton Bradley and they made this game. It's funny how photos can bring back certain memories. :)

  14. I have never seen a street version of this iconic game. When I was younger I was quite addicted to the game. But as I grew older, the addiction faded. Maybe, like you, I found the sense of wealth in the game was not one of my priorities?

  16. As a kid we played Monopoly and it was a cut-throat game! Don't remember much about it but I recall that it was fun until the older kids played. Never could win because they had strategy all figured out.

  19. I must admit I have played the Monopoly game very often with my family when I was a child. I can still see the prison and can name all the streets you could buy. Each country had his own streets in the language of its country. I would love to sit in that street and play it again! :)

  24. My 8 yr old grandson absolutely LOVES Monopoly. He always wants to play it when he's here. And he's always counting my money and then counting his money, just to make sure he has more than I do!
    I love that street art!
